Chromosomes...

I don't know what is the name in chinese,但是就是带着基因的东西。

This is our genetics lab assignment. We need to cut out each individual chromosomes printed in the paper and paste accordingly from chromosome 1 to 22 and chromosomes X and Y.

It has been a long time that i didn't deal with cut and paste since kindergarten, as well as puzzle, haha... So quite interested to play with these. (But later i found that it spent a lot of time!!)

Da Dang! My completed work. All of the chromosomes paired up with their homologous partner. (There were a bit errors la---> chromosome 1 and 15 wrongly pasted.)

Notice that the last pair is sex chromosomes (XX)---> female.

This case is a Down Syndrome patient.

Have a closer look. There are 3 chromosomes number 21 instead of 2 ---> Down syndrome. Return to the first picture... i guess you can find all 3 of the chromosomes 21 easily from the mess of chromosomes. They are among the smallest ones.

This is another set of chromosomes of normal male. Notice that the last two chromosomes are X and Y ---> male.

The pairing and recognition of chromosomes are based on this sample with different patterns of bands and size.
